Our Mission Statement

Our Mission:  To provide a Christ Centered Conference on homosexuality that will be a source of hope for those who struggle, enlightenment for those who are concerned or confused about the issue, and guidance for those who want to reach out in an attitude of Christian love.

Homosexuality is very much a part of our culture today. It is debated in our seats of government and in our courts.  It is integrated into our schools and work places.  It is a source of division among our families and our peers, and it is often misrepresented and misunderstood by factions who present only extreme perspectives and view points.

The church has also taken a wide range of positions on this issue from total acceptance and embracing of the "gay lifestyle" to total rejection and denial of anyone who might struggle. It is our desire, at Christ Chapel / SportsTowne, to face this issue openly and honestly with the same attitude of love that Jesus showed.

We affirm that God deeply loves every "gay" person.  We believe that because of the fallen nature of man, we have ALL sinned and fallen short of God's perfect standard. And it is only by the grace of God and the work of the cross that we are able to find forgiveness and the power to change.

It is NOT our intentions to condemn or ridicule anyone who has decided to live openly as a gay, lesbian, bisexual or transsexual in a peaceful manner.  We do however wish to offer hope and support to those who struggle with same sex attractions and want to find a safe place to explore the root causes for their struggles and the possibility for healing.

We believe that through a committed personal relationship with Jesus Christ, prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit, change is not only possible, it is inevitable regardless of what your struggle may be.  It is our prayer that everyone who attends this conference will experience for themselves the transforming power, strength and love of Jesus.
